After I had seen xps m1330 I hope dell to offer a special edition of it or m1335.
here are some ideas for the special edition:
1- replace lid plastic with metal such as titanium or low density metal.
2- second on lid display which is supported by nvidia 8 series.
    3- blu-ray disc option.
    4- integrated GPS.
    5- e-SATA port
    6-nanostructure battery
    7-more than 64GB SSD option.
8- glossy and matte option for all lid colors.
9- luxury dell sleeve matching the notebook color
10- brighter LED display for outdoors
11- LED touchpad and backlit keyboard.
    12- wireless charging technology
here is a link I posted my ideas on ideastorm so if u like my ideas plz vote for it:

I was hoping they would made a special edition m1337. I can't see how the devs can pass up an opportunity like that!

    1 3 3 7 !!!

How about a hydrogen fuel cell? Or maybe a RTG (radioisotope thermoelectric generator)? Imagine 1,000,000 hours of run time...

    OLED FTW!

Most of what you've said is already available or will be soon.

1- You want to make it heavier? This isn't a macbook pro
2- The sideshow displays are fine, but Dell's built-in Media direct is essentially the same thing
    3- Coming...
4- External GPS are available and better because they're not enclosed by the laptop casing. The only one with it is the U3. And is it really practical for everyday use?
5- There are express card slots...
6- Not an impossibility to come out later with one
7- Coming, and later with 128gb
8- Just buy a Macbook if you want matte
9- They already do for the 14" series which will fit it fine
    10- They already have this...
11- The screen is bright enough to illuminate anything. And most people can still use a QWERTY keyboard in the dark without knowing the keys...
12- Is coming, but its implementation is better suited for small gadgets and will be very expenisve on a notebook scale

    What are you talking about?

    http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2110283,00.asp

It's currently being developed, we'll probably see it hitting the enthusiast and corporate markets in the next 10 years.

for future nothing impossible u can imagine anything u love at the same time supporting dell :D about oled display, this OLED will cost too much with these features and... man what about inegrated PROJECTOR LENS!!! this would be fine!!
I love to see the features of the near future of m13xx :)

    Nice suggestions.

Also to add to that, how about a new and improved cooling system on the m1330? It would certainly be great to see the cons being fixed in the special edition.

That's maybe fine for phones and other small power-consuming devices, but i don't see how it could be implemented on laptops and still be economically efficient.

@3dvirus: HDV doesnt have a useful advantage over other portable storage devices, so i don't see how and when it will be an option for notebooks ;)

My point was that wireless recharging was not just a imaginary fantany, but its actually already happening. Which so far are for small devices, and that the concepts of wireless charging are already there, just needs more time to develop.

I am just sceptical it is going to allow large charge rates. I suppose developments include focusing the transmitted energy at the receiving device in the same way as must be done for wireless equipment. Still I think to induce large currents you are going to have to have very large radio fields that we are not going to want to be subjected to.

Maybe we need to charge things by laser beam!

I thought we were talking about laptops here and not small devices?

And it won't need just more time to develop, it'll need lots of time to develop.

Keep floating on your dream boat....
