So I just ordered my XPS 1530 (finally!). It was asking me for info when checking out, and it asked for my school and student ID. That area is the only place where I entered such info, though. Then, on my shipping adddress, it had this:

    MY NAME
    MY UNIVERSITY
    STUDENT ID
    MY ADDRESS
    CITY, STATE ZIP CODE

Of course taking out my actual information. So just to put fake info in there:

    John Doe
    Louisiana State University
    L1234567
    12345 Seagan Lane
    Baton Rouge, LA 70890

Is this standard? When I go to edit my shipping info, they give me the same form. It's the only time they ask for my school, and I have an EPP discount so I have to give it. When asking for the university name and my student ID number, it says nothing about shipping... I just don't want this to end up being shipped to my university, for obvious reasons...

    What is up?

If the address that it is listed is where you want it to be shipped, don't worry about it.

I have bought 4 laptops with a Boeing EPP code and each was like this:

    Name
    BOEING
    Shipping Address

They all got to my house fine.

Why wouldn't you put your correct info for shipping?

    like seriously?

He put in his college address when he signed up for the laptop and so he is trying to make sure that they send it to his home and not to his college.

The actual address is mine (12345 Segan Lane, and city/state and zip) but the university is listed first, ya know? It's just odd. Just wanted to make sure.

I just ordered a laptop from dell and had the exact same issue. Don't worry about it, as long as they have your real address (and a credit card!), no reason they can't get your laptop to you.

dont worry.. my package(laptop) says my college , but DHL delivered fine

but saying, dell sent another package(accessories) via DHL, but this time DHL couldn't send it to my home... when i called DHL, the CSR on the phone asked if i was sending to school or home.... eventually delivered @home, but a little more troublesome...
