The backlighting on my screen has recently stopped working - and want to get in contact with Dell for a replacement screen... how is their customer service, is it good, quick (how long?), and are they helpful? If you could post your experience with them that would be good too!

my screen also has a defect. the first time i called, they insisted that it was a software problem, and wasted 1 hour updating drivers. i called again, and the guy was awesome and immediately said he was sending a new system ( i am within the 21 days).

FWIW, the same thing happened to my out of warranty Inspiron laptop earlier this summer. Brand new screen+inverter combos sell on eBay for about $50-60 and it took me maybe 30 mins to install....very easy to do.

Just in case anyone has the same problem out of warranty
