I've been searching thru the forums all day today tryin to find the answer to this question with no luck.
What is the difference between wxga, wxga+, wsxga, and the whole laptop screen with true life and such... so sorry its such a noob question im just trying to find a m1530 to play games on...

I'm pretty sure the differences are in resolution, and true life is glossy (reflective) for better colors, but glare can be an issue...

thank you pixelot
do you have any recomendation on wat screen i should get for gaming? Mostly WoW and SC2 wen it comes out -
Not being a gamer (other than DOS games and older stuff), I couldn't really say...
But here's a chart:
Standard
a. XGA -1024x768 - Large and easy to read text + graphics icons, but you fit less stuff on the screen.
b. SXGA - 1400x1050 - Compromise resolution between XGA and UXGA.
c. UXGA - 1600x1200 - Very small text and graphics icons, you can fit lots of stuff on the screen.
Widescreen
d. WXGA or WXGA+ - 1280x768/800 or 1440x900; Wider viewing version of XGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
e. WSXGA+ - 1680x1050; Wider viewing version of SXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
f. WUXGA - 1920x1200; Wider viewing version of UXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets. -
As mentioned, higher resolution means more screen area but smaller text(some people can have trouble with that).
Take a look at Greg's Example: 15.4" Screens and Various Resolutions and their differences
For RTS games(and maybe MMORPG), I would say a higher resolution would be better(more objects on the screen) but higher resolutions= lower gaming performance(your GPU has to work harder) so you may have to lower the setting or lower the resolution.
Also WSXGA+ res are good for non gaming tasks like browsing(less scrolling) and office(excel+word).
