Alright so its not exactly what you'd call a refresh, but hey, its news. Dell XPS M1530N will be getting Ubuntu in Early August.

Linux options featuring Ubuntu 8.04 are CURRENTLY available in the new models: Ubuntu 8.04 will be offered on the XPS M1330N and Inspiron 1525N notebooks and the Inspiron 530N.

In August Dell will further expand Ubuntu to XPS M1530N and Studio 15N.

Dell seems to be trying to communicate that the current models arn't going away. At least probably not till August.

No there are no aesthetic changes or anything like that its the exact same hardware just different OS thats all.

Wow, thats pretty awesome. If they keep up the support for Ubuntu, I will have to give Dell's lineup serious consideration!

Does the final price reflect the absence of Windows XP?

Ubuntu offered by dell has always been a bit of a joke. It boils down to about a $50 difference in price. and the Ubuntu models are offered with limited hardware options as compared to their windows counter parts.
