    Hi Guys,
I need ur help. I recently bought 1555. I am not satisfied and want 2 return it 2 Dell.
Now, This is what I want 2 know:
    1. The bought system is on the name of a Dell employee. So is it possible 4 me 2 return it?
    2. Does Dell give 100% money back in this case?

The reason why I want 2 return it is that the employee thru which the system was ordered messed up the upgrades and also cheated me. When I received the system, there were three missing upgrades out of the eight upgrades ordered:
    1. I had ordered a Topo Black Colour. I got Jet Black.
    2. I had ordered 7200 rpm drive. I got the 5400 one.
    3. I had ordered 5300 Wifi Card. I got the 5100 one.

That employee is also not cooperating now. He Cheated me. He charged me 54900 INR for the system promising me that I will receive all 8 upgrades in this amount. However when the system was delivered there were these three missing upgrades. Also he got the system for a whole lot lesser amount on his name and got it delivered 2 me. I paid him directly and he paid further 2 Dell. The Credit card statement ( he paid 2 Dell by credit card) that came with the delivered system is a whole lot lesser than the amount that I paid him. This means he paid a whole lot lesser than the amount I paid 2 him. Now I just dunno what 2 do. Should I complain 2 Dell about the entire issue or return the system or buy the missing upgrades on my own and close the entire issue.

I should have bought directly 4m Dell without involving him. Please help me. I am really disheartened and feeling really low. I can only turn 2 u guys 4 help. What shud I do????

This really is between you and Dell, but you should call and ask to speak to a manager. Explain your case to him and demand a refund. If he refuses, ask to speak to his manager; move your way up the ladder. Be firm and polite; rudeness, yelling, or accusations will not get you anywhere.

If the invoice says that you paid for the upgrades, and you didn't get them...case closed.

Actually in the invoice, only those upgrades r mentioned which I have received. The guy cheated by ordering the only five out of eight upgrades.

Is it possible 4 me to even get the system replaced??

This is actually between you and the Dell Employee. As far as Dell is concerned, this is a third-party transaction. What the employee did was certainly against Dell SOP (purchasing a laptop for someone else using the employee discount), so he may get fired, but as far as the sale of the laptop between you and the employee, Dell didn't have a hand in that. If the laptop is returned, the employee will get the credit, not you.

    Thanks for the replies.
What if I get the Laptop replaced? I will be calling on Monday and asking them for a replacement first with the new one having all the upgrades. Will replacement be possible for a laptop purchased on a Dell Employee's name? What r ur views?

As far a Dell is concerned, unless the employee officially transfered ownership to you (which is unlikely, given that he would be fired if Dell found out what he did), you do not own the laptop. They will not talk to you about another person's computer.

I don't see how Dell would give you the upgrades, since they weren't ordered or paid for. This honestly sounds like fraud to me, since you fradulently used another person's status as an employee to get a laptop at a reduced rate. If he won't do right by you, I don't know that you have any recourse.

^^ I paid more than the actual price of the laptop 2 that guy. The fraud has been done by that employee who actually paid a lot lesser amount 2 Dell since he had purchased the Laptop on his own name. He kept the rest of the amount (around 10k) with himself. I was not even knowing and till the last moment kept on thinking that the actual price of the laptop is the amount that I am paying (54.9K).

In all this mess, I am stuck now. I want the upgrades anyhow. As a end customer, I have suffered. I can pay extra to Dell for the upgrades. Is this also possible that I can send back the 5400 rpm HDD and the Intel Wifi 5100 Card to Dell and they can send me the upgrades? I will pay extra to Dell for these..

You can purchase the better HDD and WIFI card from Dell, but they're not going to accept your HDD and WIFI card.
