I intend to make a backup of my whole system, incld Win7 & Dell Recovery Partition. As far as I understand, the Recovery media or partition will only restore Win7 partition alone.
I could use Acronis True Image to make a complete backup of the hd, but my question is :
- Does the recovery partition depend on the current MBR ?
What if I restore the backup image to a different-size hd without restoring the original MBR ? Will it still work ?

If things haven't changed since late March, when I received my SXPS, you might be able to burn the image that's located on the recovery partition to a bootable disc (or USB thumb drive). I was able to do this with Dell DataSafe that was already installed on my system when I got it. This image contained the ENTIRE harddrive (diagnostics partition, recovery partition, and OS partition). I know this because I have deleted all three partitions and they were restored (to factory state) when I restored the system using the DVD disc I created.
