So Dell finally conceded defeat and have ordered me a replacment M1330... (Yay) But after hanging the phone I realised something , Whats my new customer and order number ? DPD are coming on Friday to collect my current broken M1330, Should I get my new order and customer number after friday or will I ever get one? Will they just ring up a day before and say its been shipped? By the way i'm in the UK, Anyone with experience it would be nice if you could tell me if you got a order number and customer number to track it via the website..

    Thanks.

Under normal circumstances you are supposed to receive your new order before return the old. Perhaps that is not in the UK, just in the US...?

You might want to call them to clarify the facts.

Check online in your account settings. Dell usually processes it before you ship it back.

In the US, when you get a replacement, it shows up in the Account Settings, and the moment you request the replacement, it gets processed and Dell generates a free shipping label for you to ship back your item within 10 days of the date the label is generated. You typically receive your replacement long before then so you get to test both out.

Fair enough, I might give them a ring in a minute. I'l just go into dell.co.uk and see if theres any info on my replacement.

sometimes they do an exchange like they ship you the new one, and you open that, put the old laptop in the box, and give it right back to the dhl guy.

Ok I looked in the dell.co.uk account section and could find no where for outstanding orders, When I clicked on order status it asked for the order and customer numbers..

Your Customer# remains the same. This never changes (in theory). They should email your replacement order# to you. If not, log into your account and do a search for orders based on customer# and zip code.
