I have had my Dell E1505 for about 2 years now and my battery is past its useable life. The battery is a KD476 (9 cell) and won't hold a charge for more than 1 hour. Dell wants $300 plus taxes and shipping for a new one. I refuse to pay $300 for a battery that gets horrible reviews and for most people won't last for more than 1 year.

Has anyone purchased an OEM Dell battery for less from somewhere or does anyone trust non-OEM batteries? If so, who?

    Thanks in advance!

One word: eBay. You should be able to get a genuine Dell battery for roughly $60. The genuine Dell's are the best batterys, as no one knows what, if any, safety standards are in place for those other cheap packs.

uh the correct spelling is "batteries", SpeedyMods. spellcheck, dude.

certainly the battery CPiper04 used to have in his laptop was pretty much defective.
