    Hi all,

I have an inspiron e1505 with an Samsung UltraSharp™ Wide Screen SXGA+ Display with TrueLife. My LCD a few months ago started to go dark on the left hand side (a band about an inch thick and a noise) and it turned out to be a failing inverter. Dell consequently sent me a replacement to fix the problem. The band went away with the replacement unfortunately the LCDs they have provided me , two of them at this point, have multiple dead pixels. Last LCD I got I counted at least 12 dead pixels.

I am tired of swapping in failing LCD's into my system. I was wondering what the heck I could do at this point? I can't believe Dell would provide me a piece of garbage replacement that is already showing sign of dead pixels. Thoughts comments and or suggestions would be great.

Are you out of your warranty? Are you replacing them yourself? If you are out of warranty there is probably very little you can do. I tried to replace a motherboard in an older laptop and Dell sent two dud refurbs before I gave up.

I do feel like dell's quality control has gone way down lately. You just have to keep trying.

I have had 3 LCD replaced by the Dell tech. All have stuck pixel and dead pixel problem. I finally ask Dell to send me LCD panel so I can repair myself. I settled with one dead pixel. I have 5 laptops before, including 3 Dell. None of them have any pixel problem. I wonder if LCD manufacturing is going down the hill since most doesn't make in Taiwan, Japan, or Korea anymore...

I think they have no quality control. I have just received a laptop, having paid 350$ to fix the cracked screen with dead pixel.

Wow that really sucks. You should call them back immediately and tell them they replaced it with a defective screen, especially since you paid out of your own pocket.
