Is dell or secondhand the only way to get the quicksnap covers?

Also, am I correct in assuming what fits the i6xxx series fits the e1505 series?

Just looking at this ebay auction Clicky, and wondering if its the correct part for an E1505.

My new E1505 arrives tommorow, and my better half is ordering one as well, so I wanted to personalize between the two.

I'm pretty sure that's the case, the 6000 covers should fit the E1505's. I just ordered one at a Dell kiosk yesterday, and it should be in my hands by Friday. I'll let you know if the rep ordered the right part or not. The part number is...

    Order Group Quantity Item Description

1 1 310-6441 Cherrywood QuickSnap Cover, for Inspiron 6000, Customer Installed.

Hopefully it looks and protects as well as it costs. $50 isn't cheap. I'll let you know if it's the right part.

I'd be interested to know if this works out. I just got off of a support call with Dell and the tech insisted that they don't even make QuickSnaps for the 1505 or 6400 - even though on the 1505 you can order them with your Dell. He was surprised when I showed him the link, but then insisted that they are not available after purchase and that the 6xxx series does not work with either the 1505 or the 6400.

Obviously he's confused - but if you find out how the Quicksnap works, looks, etc... please post.

    Thanks,

The I6000 is the same exact laptop as the 6400/E1505 just a different line up hardware inside.
