    Hi there,

Just been looking on xps-wiki.com for the first time, and noticed there is a new version of Quickset out which utilises several power saving options that i am interested in, such as switching to vista basic colour scheme upon using battery power.

The article also states that there is an issue with quickset which causes crackling during audio playback.

As i didnt re-install quickset after my clean vista install, i am none the wiser. lol.

Can any of you comment on this?

    Is it a major problem?

Does it affect all who use Quickset?

    Help much appreciated x

Some people report audio crackling, others do not. I think in the end, the audio crackling has to do with Vista and Sigmatel. Vista's sound scheme/design is very different than XP.

Googling you will see several different links on the subject. Take a look at this one on the MSDN forums....

As I mentioned in the original post, I experienced severe crackling when on power saver/battery mode.

You can always install and test it out yourself - if you dont like the performance, just uninstall and use this version of quickset... R171786
