I was looking into getting a quick snap cover for my I6000. I'm sure a few people here have them, so I'd appreciate if you could post pics or just let me know how you feel about them. I'm leaning towards the carbon fiber or the leather one, but I'm not sure about the quality of the leather or if it even looks good.
A few questions:
1. Is there any stores where you can look at the snap on covers?
2. How is the fit? Are they tight against the laptop or a little loose?
3. Kinda general, but are they worth it? I think they go for around 50 bucks, but I worry that they're probably not worth anywhere near that, quality wise.
Thanks

I have exactly the one you are looking for. I put it on my I6000 (back when I owned one!) and the fit was very tight. I was pleased with the fit.
I've sent you a PM. -
I'll get back to you on that, lancorp. I'm really wanting to see these in person before buying. I'm just not sure if that's possible.
-
Is there anything like this for E1505/6400?
-
E1505 has them too.. I was told by the sales ppl it didnt.. but if you look at customize for accessories, its a drop down bar, has a few choices. I ordered mine with the Blue one. Wondering how it looks and feels as well. =/ Or if it makes it bulky etc or if in a laptop case if you have to be careful etc.
-
Please let me(us) know how it is once you recieve it. -
I have a new/unused one that I ordered for my I6000 about 6 months ago, and now I have a E1505.
Guess what? The snap-on cover for the I6000 fits the E1505 perfectly!!!!!
Now my E1505 has a snazzy new Carbon fiber lid!!!
Those of you looking for snap-on covers, if you find one for the i6000, it will fit your E1505/6400 fine. -
I have a carbon fiber covr for my 6400 and looks and fell great. It doen't fell loose, the fit is actually very tight adn doesn't look or fell more bulky than normal. get one!
-
Cool!
I'll definitely order one! -
don't be so quick; I was tempted to pick one up till I realized just how pointless it was. thought you would take off the back off the monitor and put the snap on, but you place it on top of the current lid. Might as well put stickers or something if you want to be "unique" or w/e.
-
I love the looks of cherrywood so I want it on top of my lid.
That's it...
Stickers will only make the lid look worse, childish, or stupid... -

yeah, i couldn't find one... -
I dont know.. another person could look at this like the RAZR Motorola Faceplate, the ones that you slide the phone into, the slip kind..
Same thing here, just place over it, The nice part? You dont scratch up the orig backing of your monitor. Would be nice too.. question is when you store your laptop in the bags and all.. will they pop off easy or how durable are they.. once I have the quicksnap myself.. Ill post a picture of it and give a review. Should be early this week I get it. -

Are the snaps just for 'good looking' or they make de notebook harder or anything?
-
I would say this.. it would add "abit" of a harder cover on top of the lid. Meaning you COULD place something on it if needed.
Or just extra scratch resistance to help keep it looking good.
Its quite nice tho. =) I love mine. -
Yep i'd agree i've had alot of fun with my cherrywood snap cover, not something you really need but hey...
It fit tight on my 6000 and fits great on my E1505. -
I didn't get one when I ordered my 6400 because I wanted to save a bit of money and thought I would get one later. I haven't yet bothered, but think I will as I would like to add some protection to the lid.
I've seen some on eBay, but they were not cheaper than buying from Dell at order time and were slightly more expensive. -
anyone have pics of these?
-
Ill try to get one up.
-
do they make them for the M140?
-
I've got the leather one for my 9400. Dell didn't directly have one for the 9400, but the one I bought for the 9300 fits perfectly.
Here's a pic:
-
the leather definitely looks like it has some class...will fit on my e1705...now if I can just talk myself into spending $45 for something worth about $5...
-
the leather even has a soft feel to it... it's still plastic, but so much nicer than the hard silver cover. My personal opinion, is that it looks better than even the carbon fibre one...
It was worth the $ to me... -
Nice looking! How do they "quick snap" into place? Secure?
-
There's ridges on the back and front of the display edges. It snaps in VERY securely... The cover adds a millimeter or two to the thickness, but it's hard to tell it was never there to begin with
-
where can i purchase these?
-
this is the one I got (but from the Dell Canada site):
http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=CADHS1&sku=310-6569
There are cheaper places, but I wouldn't know where to get them... try google -
hey Garbuckle, did it add much weight to the machine? im not too concerned about it but i am curious
-
Does anyone have a shot like that of the carbon fiber? Dell's website has the smallest pic's, garbunkles is the first to give me a good idea what they are like.
-
I would buy one but these things arent worth my 45 bucks. 10 maybe.
-
Sure do!
Cover on the laptop
Pic to show thickness
Pic off the laptop to show thickness and to give you an idea
-
It's very light... you won't notice the difference at all
-
The company on eBay that has carbon ones has put the price up since I looked a couple of weeks ago.

Does anyone has pictures of the other Quicksnaps?
Cherrywood and I think one more is missing... carbon fiber and leather pictures have already been posted. -
My fiance has the mediterranian blue cover. If i can remember, I'll snap a picture of it for you. Its a very dark blue. Looks very nice and has no texture look to it. Goes great with the white/silver. Look for picks soon.

Thanks a lot!!
-
No Problem, in fact, here they are. Since you already know about how thick they are, I'll just snap some pics of them on the laptop. She's very happy with it...

Thanks!!!!!
-
Yea I Just ordered my I6400 this past Saturday over the phone, and got the Representative to through the quicksnap in for free, so I opted for the Carbon Fibre....Anyone have an opinion on whether I should switch it to Med. Blue, cause after seeing the pictures they are both looking sweet, and are leaving me questioning...Thanks in advance
-
i personally prefer the carbon or the red one as opposed to the blue.
-
if only they covered the white bumpers...
-
The carbon fiber is cool, and hides fingerprints and dust better. But the blue goes better with the white imho. -
Do they have them for e1405?
-
What is THE best quick snap color?
Is the black leather one actually leather?
Anyone got a picture of that one? -
-
any for the m1210?
-
dont think there are any for the m1210...
-
interestingbecause in the Dell back to school game you can virtually place them on the m1210, maybe they are just doing some marketing research on which models to produce..
-
correct me if i'm wrong... but i think those are the skins. not the quicksnaps.
-
oh you are right, basically same thing no? are skins available for the m1210?
just lookked it up, there are plenty of skins for the m1210
