Dell Purolator delivery time to Canada

I can't help but be impatient because I am VERY excited about getting my new Dell I9400. Dell site says shipped Sat Feb 10. Purolator site says Sun Feb 11. Purolator site doesn't seem to update status. I phoned and they say the laptop is still in the USA. Is this possible?

Looks like it won't be delivered until tomorrow- Thurs (2/15) or Fri. Estimated time of delivery is Fri. I was under the impression that it would be here sooner.

Any ideas from your experiences? I ordered the unit on Wed Feb 7th.

When I checked the Purolator site, it would say when it was in my town and that would tell me when it would actually arrive.

 

well, what happens is your order goes through and the box gets built in Malaysia, then gets shipped to Austin, then gets shipped to Calgary (if you live in the west -- i think TO, in the east), and then gets shipped to your city.

the purolator website isn't entirely accurate. i know from various e-orders that sometimes a package will arrive "on time", even though it won't show up on the system ...

hang tight, it's on the way! what did you get, spec-wise, BTW?

it takes about 5 business days. Mine was shipped on Thursday and I received it on the following Wednesday.

 

Hey! What a coincidence... my laptop was also shipped on the 10th. Only difference was I ordered the unit (the XPS M1210) on Tuesday, not Wednesday.

I'm in the same boat as you - Purolator's site and customer service number both state the laptop being in transit in the U.S.

ordered my XPS M1210 on Feb. 3rd, got to Texas on the 9th, i called purolator to ask when it will arrive, guy said on thursday, but i got it yesterday

 

^^ Since you received your XPS M1210, may you please answer these two questions (I'm assuming it came loaded with some version of Vista):

- Did you order an AV pack, or did you have the option to deselect it?
- If so, or if not, did the unit come with a webcam, or a mobile broadband antenna?
- Can you check the manufacturer of your monitor? (search up on this forum on how to do it... I have no clue on how to find out)

I ordered mine on the 9th. Same model, different specs. Same problem with the Purolator website though. I knkow it doesn't make it come any faster, but I REALLY want to know when it will come!

 

My friend got his m1210 two weeks after ordering. We were quite surprised (the arrival date was 2 days early).

 

I ordered my 9400 over the telephone late at night on thursday. It arrived the next thursday. The guy I ordered it from said he put a rush on the order but I paid him no heed. It arrived two business days earlier than expected.

 

I suspect that major snowstorm in the northeast US/southeast Ontario has something to do with this delay. Purolator has no update yet.

 

I ordered my inspiron 6400 last month and It took six days which is 4 days earlier.

 

Update: according to Purolator, my laptop left the Toronto sorting center at 5:17 PM. It should be here tomorrow.

EDIT: It's here. It arrived at around noon.

 

Mine arrived on Thurs- 8 days after I ordered it. I love it.
