    Hi folks,

I've lurked around here for a while, but never posted. Figure most/all of you are way more in the know than I am about Dell's production times so I'm hoping one of you can help me.

I placed an order on 2/7 for Dell's Studio 15. The estimated ship date is 2/23 and has not changed since the day I purchased. Since 2/9 the order has been in production and according to the oh-so-vague order status hotline it is in the "build" stage. I thought that after build it had to be boxed, tested, etc. It seems hard to believe that all this will be done before Monday (the day it is to ship). I just called the customer care line and the woman had ZERO information besides what I got from the automated number. She said it's in production, scheduled to ship on Monday. I asked her why it hasn't moved from the build stage and she offer basically no reason but said that there is no reason to expect a delay.

Am i being given the usual Dell runaround here? Is it possible this thing could actually go from the build phase to being shipped and actually ship on Monday despite being in the same phase of production for two weeks?? I'm getting so frustrated with Dell...Thanks in advance to any/all for your help!

Hey, your order could very well ship on Monday ~ it will go out of the Build stage and into the next one..which could happen now or on Saturday, even Sunday! And, if you signed up for e-mail shipment notification, you may wake up Monday morning, to a e-mail stating it's shipped. :D

You will not be charged, until your lappy is ready to ship. I don't think you were getting the runaround from the Dell Rep, sounds like she needs some more *be more informational training* ;)

You can always, try another Rep and see what they say.

Otherwise, try and stay patient...Monday is nearly 72 hours away..it's the weekend, which will help time, and the wait go by fast!

    Hope that helps... :D

That does help, thank you. I'm just being pessimistic, I suppose...but I know how Dell likes to disappoint. lol...thanks again!

NP! :D And, no worries...I was a bit frazzled as to why my Mini 9 was sitting in the *build* stage for a what seemed like forever. I finally got my answers from Dell, and I was able to rest a bit easier, whilst waiting!

Here's to postive thinking that it will ship on Monday, for you! :D
