Has there been any leaks about a Dell product refresh once Intel officially releases their Haswell processor in two weeks?

I would love for either the Inspiron 17R SE to drop a bit in price or a new model with a Haswell processor and a NVidia GT 750m or higher.

Did anyone see the post by Dell on Google+ today?

How well do you know your "F" shortcuts?

    F2 - Re_ _ _ e
    F4 - Re _ _ _ t
    F5 - Re _ _ _ _ h

Can you fill in the blanks?

    I do believe it's coming. :)

    Unless they're just troll'n.

Bahh, I guess I was reading too much into it, it was just supposed to be a game. Here I thought it was a pretty creative way of hinting of a possible product refresh next week.

Nope, Dell is always too busy playing games with their customers on Facebook/Google+/Twitter to release anything decent/new ;) Maybe they should drop out of this market and focus om social media :D.
But on a more serious note, since HP messed up the j-xxx line (for me) with a combined headphone/mic jack and Asus gave the n550 a silver keyboard that potentially will be ruined with months of use, I'm interested to see what Dell is going to offer (Hopefully no more ULV jokes). So leak/release all the things already!

Dell announced updated Haswell Desktops and a single Latitude today. Hopefully we will see some Inspiron news tomorrow.

Also, Lenovo already has their Haswell based Ideapad Y510p in stock at Fry's (although there's been no official announcements yet).

Hope no ULV jokes anymore, totaly useless to put only ULV CPU's in their laptops, and to see every stupid seller claiming "it's an i7 so it's MEGA FAST" lol :)

Alienware will be announcing their new lineup on Monday, so hopefully we will see something regarding the Inspiron lineup on the same day. I guess Dell wanted to be the last company to make their announcement.

Alienware has announced their Haswell lineup (looks sweet). Come on Dell, where are the Inspirons?

The Inspiron 15R Touch has been updated with Intel 4th gen processors (Haswell).

Models are available with the Core i5-4200U and Core i7-4500U.

That's great, now bring on the Special Editions!!!! :D

Update: Apparently the Core i3-4010U is also available.

I asked Dell Canada sales (chat) about ordering a 17R Special Edition with an Intel 4th gen processor (Haswell) and was told that it will be updated with the new processors in another week. I guess we will see.

Well the Radeon 8850M GDDR5 performs in-between a GTX 660M and GT 750M, which is fine with me (depending on the price). Where did you hear this information?

    Still nutt'n

So far the only updated model is the Inspiron 15R, but none of the Canadian/US models have dedicated graphics. Both Lenovo and HP have consumer Haswell laptops available for purchase. Even my local Costco had a HP laptop with Haswell and a Nvidia GT 740M for sale.

Dell hasn't even announced them yet. Pretty sad.

Also interesting: they talk about " Inspiron 3537/5537/3737/5737" there.
Seems to be the new Inspiron 15/15R/17/17R - so no follow-ups for the SE's?
Each time exciting again, the product refresh at Dell. ^^

The XPS 12 is now available with a 4th Gen Intel i7. Nothing else though.

Sad showing from Dell to say the least.

    Dell, I'm dissapoint.
Why can't they design a decent cooling system so they can drop the ULV processor. Or at least have an option for decent CPU's. Just decided that any Inspiron out there right now is not worth my money. Going to be updating my 1564 for another year even if it's totally not worth it.
These would walk all over the competition with a full voltage processor, the optional dGPU and optional 1080p screen and decent pricing. But no.. they messed it up again.

I would be fine with a low voltage processor if it helped prevent overheating.

I'm so sick of my current Dell overheating that I have no problem with the slight performance hit.

I just can't believe that Dell has still not updated their Inspiron product line. I guess they have no interest in being competitive and making sales.

What kind of Dell machine do you have? Laptop in my sig never overheats while gaming, even when benching gpu+cpu it stays under 85°C and doesn't throttle, the CPU even turbos on both cores.
I can't believe it either and stopped caring by now what Dell is going to release until broadwell is coming. Decided that I'll be upgrading my 1564 with a 1080p screen (almost done) and an i7 840qm.

Has Dell mentioned if they are going to make a 15 and 17 inch Inspiron Special Editions yet with the Haswell processor?

They recently updated the Inspiron 17R with Haswell, but no Special Editions.

Dell Precision m4400. It's 4.5 years old, but can still play Deus Ex Human Revolution and Portal 2 (though that's not saying much). The GPU gets up to almost 100 degrees playing Bioshock 1. The CPU generally stays below 80.

I purchased a 17R Special Edition, but it would heat up to 90+ degrees and then throttle while playing Deus Ex HR, so I sent it back. I'm hoping that a newer version of the 17R SE might have improved cooling.

Well, it's been 4 months since I started this thread and it looks like Dell has finally announced some newer models with 4th gen Intel processors (not counting the slightly updated Inspirons that have trickled out over the last couple of months).

    Inspiron 3000, 7000 and New 23 All-in-One Desktop | Dell

They look pretty thin so I'm guessing cooling is going to be a problem (yet again), but I guess we will have to wait until the 26th to find out.
