Hey All,
I think I am ready to pull the trigger on a Maxed out E1705. But before I do that, I wanted to see if anyone here would have an idea of Dell product launch turnaround times. I know that internal architecture keeps changing every few weeks but what about, the formfactor, styling, new features, etc.? The E1705 was launched in January and I am wondering if I should hold off for a month or two incase there is some new replacement on the horizon. I know with latitudes, first protos usually come out in march and they are ready for production by mid april. Any inputs or suggestions here would be appreciated. Thanks

technology changes so rapidly--things pop up everyday! if i were you, i would make a list of things that i do on the laptop and go buy a laptop, currently in the market, to do my work. you could wait for the next model, but then again you could wait for the model after that just waiting for a few more months. i hope you understand this.

Dell might change Inspiron designs when Intel's Santa Rosa platform debuts early next year... again might is the operative word hehe.

Dell won't be launching any new notebooks until next year, there might be an AMD notebook release in October/November -- but likely that will just be giving the option of an AMD processor inside of a notebook already there.

When are they going to offer C2D in the Latitude line up?
EDIT: Oh looks like they're on there now.. they weren't a few days ago. -
Alright - so for exactly - $2,310.36 inc. Taxes and Shipping - $150 Rebate = $2160.36, I can get the E1705 with the following Config. Is this a good deal or do you think I can get another make with similar specs for less? Or should I wait a few weeks for the price to come down a little more.
Also, for some reason Dell won't accept the "J2LPP883X25918" 20% off coupon, however - it says even before I entered the 20% off coupon that I am getting an instant 20% off Inspiron discount. I also get a further 12% off thanks to EPP (this can be combinbed with all home offers). The intial price it discounts everything off is $3090. Does this coupon thing seem right or should I recived an additional 20% off?
I would really appreciate your thoughts if I should pull the trigger? P.S. is 2 gigs of Ram at 667mhz too much for a casual gamer (FEAR, NFS, HL2). I do plan on keeping the computer for 4 years.
Thanks
