    Hi,
Been thinking about getting a laptop for a while now but starting to look in earnest now and have hit a few hurdles:-

    1. When i have been looking for some cheap deals i have noticed a lot of talk about these coupons that yo can use to get rebates off equipment from Dell. Some are quite large. Are there any codes for uk Dell Deals? the only ones i can find are the ones on the Dell UK web site that offer £50 off ( $80) whoopee.

    2. Also is there anyway i can order a laptop from Dell in the US to be delivered in the UK? I priced up a Inspiron 9300 on the UK web site and it came to about £1800 ($2400). The EXACT same machine when ordered from the US site was $1900 wich when converted equates to about £1350, thats without any rebates. I think it is scandalous that Dell can charge us brits such a premium for EXACTLY the same item.

    Any advice would be appreciated

    cheers
    mike

We only have coupons that are for Dell's USA site. There could be ones for the U.K., but I'm not sure where you could find them. You can't order through the U.S.A. site, unless you can have it delivered to someone over here like a relative or friend.

    hey Mike,

It does completely stink on the price discrepancy you get by shopping from the UK. Unfortunately Dell UK does not have the whole coupon craze thing going on and if you order through Dell.com USA you cannot ship outside the US, it even makes you check a box accepting an agreement that you will not buy a product and carry it outside of the U.S. when you go through the buying process on Dell.com. This is obviously to prevent a grey market in people buying laptops in the U.S. and carrying them back to the U.K. to undersell the Dell.co.uk price but still make a profit. Having said that, I see a lot of Brits buying electronics such as laptops in the stores over here and taking them back (without declaring them I'm sure), or you could look for somebody on eBay willing to break the rules and ship a newly bought Dell notebook internationally. Beware of the taxes the UK customs agents will try to leverage on it though.
