I was just about to buy an XPS M1530 today, and then I found out that you can get a 12-month-no-intrest-for-XPS-systems deal (it ends in a few hours) with a Dell Preferred Account. I also heard that you can get a 3% discount off of any dell product with a DPA. What I'm asking is if it is a good idea to get a DPA before I buy this laptop, and if it costs anything and how to create this account.

it is worth it if you can pay it off when your no interest period ends. When you check out, the Dell site will give you the option of applying for a DPA card. It doesn't cost you anything.

You can do it either way...get approved before or when purchasing..the 3% will appear if you apply when checking out, also.... :D

Also regarding the XPS 12 Months Interest Free w/DPA, and when it expires. It will usually appear again w/in the next day as another offer ;) :)

I don't think it will ever really go away  :D

There is no cost involved... :D The only cost you will incur is a *heavy interest penalization* if not paid off w/in the 12 months of purchase! ;)

    Cin ;) :)

Keep in mind you get 5% off if you use your discover card. Its better than the dpa deal if you intend on paying it off with in that month.

You have to read the fine print. I believe that if you missed payments you'll lose that 12 month no interest deal.

No cost for the account and it is a great deal to get a year interest free. However don't go past that year with a balance or you will not be happy.

Once I had a CircuitCity card with no interest for one year. I was late paying the last month and guess what... they charged me interest not on the remaining balance but for the whole purchase price! I dropped that card like hot potato afterwards!
