I´ve worked with many laptops in the last few years, but few are as perfect as my brand new Dell M65 which has this configuration:
2,00 GHZ Centrino Core 2 Duo (T7200, 677MHZ FSB)
2048 MB RAM (677MHZ, DDR2)
80 GB Disc (7200 RPM)
256 MB Graphic Card (NVidia Quadro FX 350M)
15.4" SWXGA (1680x1050)
Wireless
Bluetooth
8x DVD/RW
The laptop comes with almost no programs that I don´t need, and even after I installed all my stuff it´s fast, silent and runs like a dream. Not to mention the build quality of the case and keyboard which is better than most, and certainly much better than my old Dell Inspiron 6000, that the M65 will replace.
Lots of talk have been made about the graphic card, all I can say that for a non-gamer like me it doesn´t matter, the performance for what I will use if for it excellent, I would recommend this for anyone doing serious work on their laptop.
Thanks for reading...

Ok, one minus so far that I have found.
The harddrive is a little noisy, more than my Inspiron 6000 and more than the rest of the laptop, could it be a defect, or is this common for 7200 RPM hardrives ? -
The hard drive should not be noisy. The only thing you should hear sometimes is the fan -
I have the Latitude D820 cept a T7600 but otherwise exact same specs, it is basically the same machine, and my 7200 rpm 80gb drive is really loud as well, of course I have mine set to performance mode in the bios but still it is a loud drive.

I see that Dell is coming out with D630 in April......do you think there's a replacement for the M65 coming soon?
-
Dell told me the M65 will not be replaced before fall 2007, I couldn´t wait and I´m happy with my purchase, I will try to make a recording so you can hear the disc compared to an Inspiron 6000.

I just looked at the M65 review I wrote back in September, and everything still applies: great machine with very few "cons" and a lot of "pros". I have the 5400 RPM, so there's no real noise. The only flaw, which I generally don't notice at all, is a little (very little) light leakage. Although I tend to get impatient with my computers and often want to replace them, the M65 prompts no such restlessness, which is about the best endorsement I can give. There was, however, a long thread on the LCD in a D820, the same one I have in the M65, and the user was really dissatisfied. Happiness with displays really varies from person to person, but mine is just fine for my purposes.

My display is great, much better than the 2 HPs I tried, and almost as good as my external monitor.
-
Seems to be hit or miss with Dell laptop displays, which will do nothing but hurt the bottom line in the long run.
-
It´s always like that with displays.
