    Do the E1505 and the E1705 use the same power supply and jack?

    Yes and No, the 17" E1705 uses the PA-10 90W Adapter, while the 15.4" E1505 can use both the PA-10 90W or PA-12 65W Adapter.

    So while you can't use the lower rated one for the E1705, you can, however, do the reverse and use the PA-10 90W on the E1505 and below. (since 90W is the maximum supported power output thus any lower powered device can use it with no problems).

    They share the same tip/connector to the notebook. (A pin-in-barrel circular connector)
