I tried posting this in the main parts section but nobody had any solutions for my I hope that you guys might.
I cracked my dell studio 15 (1535) LCD screen , I have been looking for a replacement screen but I can’t seem to find one. Can they be purchased from dell?

I had a WLED 1440X900 screen and would like a LED back lit screen to replace it. I have checked several places including few sellers on ebay but they don’t seem to have one.

Does anyone know where I can get one and what, is the part number of the one I have?
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks for the link but don't you think $500 plus shipping is way too much for one. These things are in $600 laptops.

$500? I'm not seeing any more expensive than $200, and most are in the range of $100.

Sorry to highjack this thread, but I have a question.

My Studio 15 has a 1280x800 CCFL LCD.

    1. Will a straight swap with a WUXGA (1440x900) work?

    2. Also, can an LED backlit screen be swapped in to a previously CCFL scrren without any modifications?

    Thank you!

I don't know, probably... but WUXGA is 1920x1200.
    1440x900 is WXGA+.

those wled screens in studio 15 & 17 are top notch quality led screens.
some so called led screens in other models are fake.

yes they are great but that still doesn't explain why a replacement costs $500 + when they come with $500 +notebooks.

The cheap ones are used and cfl the $200 can be new bust still cfl

I guess the moral is don't break your DELL WLED screen or you will have to pay over $500 for it :(

its a supply issue, as of now dell is the only pc maker to have wled/rgb led on 15 & 16 mainstream consumer laptops. dell may lock in the lcd manufacturer
lg to not supply the led screens to anybody else.

i think anotehr for you option is to put in a ccfl screen and sell the laptop on ebay, then use teh proceeds to buy a new wled studio from outlet.

$180 for a new, glossy, WXGA+ 1440x900 LED display. They also have matte versions, and they're all compatible with Studio 1535, 1536, and 1537, and cost the same.
