Just got my new Inspiron E1505 and I have two questions. I searched the forums but couldn't find any answers.

First, is there an easy way to reconcile the packing slip with what I actually received? I know the hardware I received is correct, but how do I tell if I got all the application and backup/recovery discs that I was supposed to get? The part numbers on the CDs don't match anything on the packing slip.

Second, my OS is Vista Home Premium. I received a Vista Anytime Upgrade DVD, but no other Microsoft Vista media. Can the Anytime Upgrade DVD be used to perform a clean install? Or is it only used to upgrade to another version of Vista?

I've heard that the OS cd costs $10 or something. That partition the hard drive and put the recovery disk on the computer, which allows you to put the original OS (Vista Home Premium) and bloatware back on the computer. It's a crappy way for them to save money. HP/Compaq did the same thing with my last desktop that I bought 2-3 years ago.

Not sure what the Vista Anytime Upgrade DVD is but there's one easy way to find out. Run the cds/dvds or go to my computer and right click and select open to see what files are on it.
