    Hi,

We bought a Dell XPS15Z laptop online in 2011 and I have been using it ever since. A few days ago I dropped my laptop and it seems like the screen might need to be replaced (i checked online and it seems like my warranty is valid for another year)
When I called Dell support, I was told that the machine was no longer under my name even though I gave them all the details, i.e the service tag/ express service code/ Purchase ID etc. And they refused to even talk to me because their system showed that I wasn't the owner. Speaking to several departments and even the floor manager did not help- they kept on apologizing but said they couldn't do anything.

I was wondering if anyone has ever encountered this issue and how I can resolve it. I read another thread here that talked about transferring ownership but I don't have the details of the imposter who transferred our laptop ownership in his name !!!!!!!!!
