I have recently run into a small problem with Dell's Notebook Outlet. Am I correct in saying that most all, if not all, of the notebooks in the outlet have already been previosly opened and/or used and/or have suffered cosmetic damage?

Yeah. I was looking around at Dell's Outlet site to get a used notebook for my younger cousin. All of the notebooks there were already opened/booted up/had damage to cases. I didn't see an unopened notebook.

Yeah for the most part that is what it sells. It sells all of the laptops that are returned in the 21 day return period. It doesn't necessarily mean that something is wrong with the laptop -- just means that the user didn't like the laptop.

I picked up a D610 on 12/1/05 from the Dell Outlet. I'm not sure if my experience is typical but I'm extremely happy. Except for the red REFURBISHED sticker on the bottom I could not tell this was an opened/returned/used unit.

    No scratches or dead pixels.
