    Hello,

I've purchased the Dell XPS 15 9550 from the Dell Outlet US store and I was wondering if anybody has any experience with transferring the warranties from US to Canada?

The warranties in question are the Premium Support and Accidental Damage Services. I've reached out to a few people and they have told me that it could be transferred, I was just iffy on the actual execution of the transfer.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Reading the footnotes on Dell's web page for Accidental Damage Services makes it sound like they'll honor that service Internationally:

    http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/rc974477/services/support-services-accidental-damage

"Claims outside of the country in which the customer purchased this service may be available on a commercially reasonable effort basis and may not be available to all customers."

Reasonable effort in Canada wouldn't be hard to meet as it's obviously a well established Dell area of operation and lots of service centers around there. If I were you I'd call Dell directly and get an answer direct from the source and avoid any Internet rumors of how things might be handled:
    1-800-348-6147 (US)
    1-800-528-6152 (Canada)

Thing is, I've gotten mixed answers as to whether I can transfer the warranty or not with some saying yes it will completely work, and others misinformed or not knowing at all.

I just wanted to know if there was anybody with experience so I have something to go off of.

    Thanks though!

I think Dell Canada has made changes to the warranty stuff with regards to refurb units.

but it maybe dependant on the type of warranty coverage as well.

have you tried the warranty transfer online tool ?

    http://www.dell.com/support/assets-transfer/ca/en/cadhs1

To do this you may need the original owners information or it may not work. but it is best to login using the computer let dell detect the service tag etc and try the transfer.

If this fails you will have to talk to a dell rep to make the transfer

    Good Luck

    Hey, thanks!

I have a faulty charger and I've already contacted Dell in regards to the issue and it seems that they've aranged for in-home support for the moment even though I'm in the middle of the transfer.

So far, it seems like the warranty is being honoured!

    Thanks again.
