    Hi all!

First off, I want to mention what a great resource this forum is and how helpful it has been in making my notebook decision easier. Because of all the insightful feedback from the owners, I have finally decided to purchase a refurbished xps m1210 from the dell outlet. Unfortunately, I kinda would like to get the notebook by next Tuesday since I have a trip on Wednesday :( . I really regret dragging on the decision so long now.

Anyways, I was wondering if it can generally be assumed that the notebooks will ship the day the order is placed if the order is placed toward the early morning (before noon)? and would I need to get some kind of expedited shipping if I want to ensure the notebook arrives by Tuesday? I'm pretty unfamiliar with the shipping methods  ...do the weekends count for anything if the notebook gets shipped on Friday?

Also, is there any chance that Dell can discount the shipping in any way other than the standard 3-5 day shipping? Or should I just wait until after I get back from my trip?

Thanks a ton for any help!

Well if you get 1 day shipping for 70 bucks you'll get it really soon. I ordered a refurbished E1705 on a tuesday and got it on thursday.

You can probably get it in time with the fastest shipping option.

Make sure to call them and confirm your order and all that good stuff or they'll take forever to check your credit and crap.

Yes, the pretty much ship the same day. I purchased mine from their outlet on 3 APR. It shipped on 4 APR. I will receive it on tomorrow 6 APR. I also only chose 3-5 day shipping. So if you were to choose next day delivery or Sat delivery, I'm almost certain you will receive it in time.

It has been a while since I have been on this forum, but I know alot of the notebooks are shipped from overseas to the US and then they get "shipped" in Dells system. Weekends do not count...at least for new systems.

For refurbs I don't see why they couldn't get it to you. Ask them about upgraded shipping. They did it overnight for me for free on my I9300.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Thanks for everyone's responses. I actually ended up ordering the laptop only a day before my trip so it didn't make it in time. It shipped on 4/11, but the carrier and tracking number have been unavailable (the first time I checked was last night). Does anyone have any idea about this?

Again, thanks for everyone's input. This forum has really been very helpful.

Thats exactly like my case when i ordered the laptop from Dell outlet. the tracking info kept unavailable for a couple days and i have no way to track the package, so i ended up calling Dell customer service for the tracking number. Dont call the automated status number coz it will just tells u what the website says. Get a real person to talk to.
