Ok, my XPS 1530 (Refurb) is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I really wanted to get the Gateway P-6831FX, but as everyone knows, they are pretty much sold out.

Well, I have a raincheck on the Gateway, and if I somehow get it before the 21 days is up, would I be able to return the XPS to Dell for a complete refund (including shipping) even if it's open and used?

I'm worried about not getting my shipping refunded or getting dinged with a restocking fee. Thanks.

If its open and used, you'll get hit with a 15% fee. You could probably return it, but is 15% really worth it?

Then its fraud, and I'll close this thread. Do you really think Dell won't check the laptop? It takes them 5 minutes to determine if they need to slap 15%...well worth it for them.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not going to lie about it. Just be nitpicky.

One has to wonder...there are some Outlet computers I have received that I doubt Dell looked at it at all before slapping on the old Green Sticker and reboxing it, let alone spending 5 minutes with it! 5 minutes, they could actually fix it! :D

Total satisfaction guarantee = doesn't matter if you used it or not.

Restocking fee depends on what state you are from. For example, NYS = no restocking fee from Dell.

Why not? Does NYS have a state law about that?
