Hey guys. I've been custom building desktops for a while (even bought and recently sold a laptop that is built specifically for doing that). I'm just about to go ahead and pick up a Dell XPS m1530 from the outlet store, and I got a few questions.

First off, what I understand is that I should not choose the WSXGA+ display avoid the grainy screen issue. Is that correct? Would they even allow me to have the screen replaced if I do have that problem, or am I stuck with what I got?

Also, since this will be a refurbished model, should I go ahead and buy the cheapest one I can get (with the 256mb 8600GT and better display), and just buy the memory and perhaps a Penryn CPU to upgrade?

I don't know if I should or not, or wait until there are refurbished Penryn models. I mean, the m1530 doesn't even have Penryn yet, and since I'm still in college, and I won't be with my own personal computer for a little while, would it be worth it to stick around, or will there will be a major difference between the T7500/T7700 and the new Penryn processors?

Any help would be much appreciated. I've never owned a Dell before, let alone buy one from the Dell Outlet. :)

Your 1 year warranty will be void if you replace the cpu.

Just get the base spec, you can always upgrade it later for a fraction of Dell's prices.
