In the past, I've had two vastly different experiences with buying refurbished products. I bought an Acoustimass 5.1 set from the Bose Outlet a few years back, and the subwoofer was broken. When I sent it back to Bose to repair it, they returned it saying that there was nothing they could do about it. Absolutely horrible. Recently I bought an iMac from the Apple Refurb Store, and I could not be happier. The iMac was in perfect condition, with absolutely no cosmetic or functional blemishes, all the software was included along with CDs, and there was a great 1-year warranty.
My question is, what category of refurbished stores is Dell Outlet? Are they like Bose or Apple?

From the posts I have read on this forum I would say that they are more like Apple. I'll be able to let you know about my own experience with the dell outlet in a week or two.

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
No problems for me, I've purchased two for myself, and have made many referrals, no complaints.

So far I've bought one laptop and one desktop from Dell Outlet, and both work great. The computers you buy from the outlet have the same warranty as brand new systems.

That is correct. The vista upgrade eligibility however depends on whether or not the service tag was created before October '06. Then again all it takes is a call to Customer Care to get that fixed.
On that note. My replacements' service tag must of been created before that mark because it wasn't accepted on dellvistaupgrade.com. However that doesn't bother me since I already got the upgrade discs from the first system.
