    Dell Order Status Update Frequency

    Does anyone know if the Dell order status on the 800 number or online are updated at particular intervals? Like every hour, every 15 min, every 3 hours?

    Or is it 'real time' when your item is scanned through the next area?

    Its neither. They update when they feel like it. My laptop stayed for 12 days in the Work In Progress Stage. Then in a single day jumped up three places to Ship From Factory. And I got it 3 days after that. Overall, they delivered one day before the EDD. But it took another 10 days for the status to be updated as delivered.

    So you can never really be sure when the laptop is going to arrive. Just hope that they dont send you those delay emails.

    In my experience the order status is updated when a milestone is reached or missed.
