Guys, I just went to go customize a laptop for a friend, and Dell is now offering XP on the Inspiron 1520/21 (not sure about the others)!!!! Can you believe it!!! I hope this helps sales out. This is awesome...before you could only get XP on a vostro!!!

    What do you guys think!?!?

I think it's great. It'll save you a lot of hassle other people in these forums seem to be going through with Vista. Besides, Microsoft will be supporting XP until 2014 anyway...

No, I meant you could only get XP on a vostro...Vista you could get on either the inspiron or vostro series, but you were stuck with vostro if you wanted a factory installed XP before......BUT NOT ANYMORE!!!

I'd get it, but I'd wait for a good discount coupon to come up and save yourself some money. I got a Vostro 1500 for $750 + tax by waiting until Dell came out with a good coupon for the config I wanted. I get their catalogs mailed to my house, so I know what's up.

Lol...GWT..you and I are similar...well, I think most Dell customers are...for my college laptop (inspiron 1520), I looked at the trend of Dell's coupons for a year before buying....and I also get their monthly catalog mailed to my house...and everytime, I'm in awe as I look at it...lol...

They did this the day after my 1520 shipped, damn. I'll have to downgrade Vista myself. Maybe Vista is not that bad.....
