I just bought an e1505, ran Vista for about a week and my mouse wore out from clicking all the dialogs asking me if I wanted to allow this or that... I couldn't get anything done. So I installed a copy of WinXP that I used to use on a desktop machine that I had built.

My question is what can I do with my Dell OEM Vista install. Can someone else with an e1505 us it to install it on their computer, or are these disks serialized for each individual computer?

I guess you were referring to the UAC (user account control). You can disable it in the control panel->user accounts.
    Good luck

OEM software are tied to the machine they were originally installed on. You should save it in case you ever decide to get sell it. GL

DELL OEM XP CDs works on any DELL notebook / desktop (tested my self). I don't see any legal issues as long as you use an authentic key. The CD only contains installation files, without a key it is worthless. Personally I don't feel that even downloading from torrents or eMule is illegal as long as you use a proper key (tho that might be stretching it to the limits :p).

No...it's illegal and those discs are tied to that specific system as per the EULA.

This thread isn't going anywhere useful at this point. What needs to be said has been, but this thread gets closed before it goes somewhere it should not.
