    Hello all!

Specifically the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG driver.

Is there any way of downloading just the driver or extracting the EXE file without it automatically installing the PRO/Wireless software so I can get to the driver, as I don't like using the Intel software?

Every time I have to wait for it to finish installing, then uninstall it, then update the driver.

Should I just get the driver only from Intel's web site?

    Thank you in advance. :)

That is a good idea. It should be there.

When you install the driver/software, the screen allows for only the driver to be installed. Or, if already installed, just choose to modify the install and uninstall the software and leave the driver.

I've never noticed the driver only section before until today, but the compatible one they have is slightly older than the recent one I got from Dell's web site.

That's the problem though, I want to get to the driver without having to install and then uninstall the software. During the automatic installation you can't choose what you want it to install, it's chosen for you, and the only way to stop it is to end the task, which probably isn't a good idea.

Instead of click on the automatic install, choose the custom/advance installation. That should bring you up to a list of choices and then you can check/uncheck the options that you want to be installed.

I'm now using the driver 10.5.1.69 and was still having problems last night, but so far today my wireless connection is stable and performing much better/quicker than the last couple of weeks.

I don't get that option. After the Dell EXE has finished extracting there is just an OK option, which when pressed launches the PRO/Wireless installation with no option to cancel or choose the components I want to install.
