I'm looking at ordering a Mini 9 but am disappointed to see that I can't get the fully loaded model (2gb RAM, 64gb drive) with XP. If I were to order the Ubuntu model with all the bells and whistles (including Bluetooth and 1.3 webcam), how hard would it be to install XP on it? I've heard that the webcam on the Linux version is not the same as on the XP version so I'm wondering if there'd be a problem with drivers, etc.

    Has anyone tried this?

    Thanks in advance!

It's quite easy to install XP on the mini 9.

All you need its an external optical drive and Window XP cd.
After you install XP you can get the drivers here
    dell.com/support

Thanks - very good to hear. I got my first chance to see a Mini 9 today at Best Buy and was very impressed with how solid it felt. I was looking at this or the HP 1000 and even though the HP has the bigger screen and keyboard, the Dell just felt more "expensive". Also, I like the smaller form factor - I'm going to pretty much be using as a personal media player - movies, podcasts and music. My only real concern was what I'd heard about the hardware being a little different between the Ubuntu and XP models.

Interesting that there are no Ubuntu drivers, etc. available from Dell's support site - only XP. Or am I missing something?
