If it has the dual core option and non-intel graphics; I'll take it.

For me, it's a race to see which machine fitting my needs is available first.

For me there are three options. One is the Acer Timeline 1810T which will have a model featuring a dual core Celeron SU4100 (1.3GHz, 2mb L2 cache), or this if it has dual core. I love the 11.6" screen size, slightly larger than a netbook, and smaller than my current 3810, which likely will be getting sold for either this or the Acer.

Ah man, they were so close too... check out the bezel on the 11-inch. If they had also gave it the barrel hinge design it would've been perfect. Lol, it does look like the one at the back is levitating.

Also, I think there's one missing. A 13" I think. Comes without barrel hinge, but with an optical drive unlike the 11":

Now I just need to know if they offer a C2D ULV with a 9400m. That would be awesome.

My bet is on the 4330. That's what is supposed to come in the inspiron 13. Either way, A processor that can handle HD Youtube and some actual work combined with a decent video solution would fit the bill quite nicely for me.

This whole thing is okay, but kind of a disappointment (except the design, love it!). :(

    Failures:
    • No Draft-N wireless
    • Celeron only!
    • Weight with 3 cell is the same as the Acer 1410/1810 with a 6 cell
    • Vista is not 64-bit
    • 6 cell might stick out like on the Mini 10 (speculation)

I think the Acer 11.6"s are a better buy. Hopefully the upcoming HP 11.6 can compete better.

Why does Dell not build a larger capacity battery into the system? I hate when the entended batteries raise the back of the notebook an inch. Looks terrible and makes it hard to get in a bag. The Acer Timelines have a larger battery without sticking out. The Asus EEE netbooks do as well. Come on Dell!

The studio 14z does as well, though I suspect that has more to do with it not being a mini. Still I think dell's more than capable of doing it.

Whoa, holy 92% keyboard, Batman! The Acer has a full size keyboard; the Dell now feels like a failure on multiple levels, design most definitely included.

The 11z has the same horrible trackpad as the 10v! OMG! Whatever overpaid moron designed the trackpad with buttons as part of the trackpad should be SHOT!

There are so many complaints about it. I cannot stand to use it, because when I go to push a button (lower left and right) it moves the cursor because those areas are also touch sensitive!!

The driver should be able to disable touch sensitivity in those areas so the buttons act as buttons and not touchpad!

I was excited about the 11z and now, I'm not. :(

BTW, interestingly, at dell.com, they have some downloads for the 11z (1110), but the picture shows an old gray/white laptop. The downloads, though limited, show Windows 7 x64 and Windows 7 x86 drivers available for the 11z!

I like it and the price is right, however I won't even consider ordering one unless they offer internal bluetooth.

They will. According to the service manual for the 11z, there is an internal Bluetooth module.

As is usually the case with newly introduced models, they offer them sparingly equipped at first.

The Samsung NC510 is supposed to be $600. That's a full 50% more, just MSRP.

Only 3 hr battery life on this?

So a celeron is better than an atom?

Is this one of those with no true left/right button?

So you can add a bluetooth to it?

Why would Dell put a Vista on it? X7 is leaner and better.

Yes the CULV Celeron is more powerful than an Atom

The buttons are integrated into the left and right corners of the
trackpad sort of like like the current macbooks

Dell put Vista on it so they could get it out the door sooner, Vista should still run well on a system like this-don't count it out just yet.

And yes, bluetooth will be available as an option later on once production gets ramped up, but there is a available slot if you want to open it up and go for it yourself.

The picture of the battery in the service manual looks like the Mini 10/10v battery. If so, I may order it. I have a buyer for my 10v-I'll just swap the batteries if it's possible. Otherwise, I'll wait until it's available.

If by "X7" you mean Windows 7, it looks like Dell will offer it once it starts shipping. If you look at the drivers for the 1110 (Inspiron 11), there are W7 x86 and x64 drivers.
