I was wondering if any of you Dell owners have the mini and what you think of it? I was thinking of getting the 12 but I saw that the 9 comes with a SSD which I am very interested in. Could you guys let me know what you think. Thank you :)

My mother was interested in the 12 which turned me onto it but I don't know about PATA drives at all :0

Theres nothing wrong with PATA drives, its just an older interface. Most current drives still have trouble fully using all the bandwidth of the PATA 100 and 133 interface except for the larger desktop drives and maybe the 500GB laptop drives.

There is a Dell Mini 10 coming by the end of the month, I'd wait for that.

I have the I9 in Red (Garnet) and shes a tiny, sleek and sexy Netbook!

I have had no problems nor any issues with her at all :D

And, when the Mini 10 comes out, I will prob's also purchase that.

It depends, do you want a Netbook now, or later?

Wat til the end of February/beginning of March, and you could have a nice sized Mini 10!!! :D

You got several choces there...the I9, wait on the I10, or also go for the I12 :D

    Cin ;) :)

the mini10 is coming, so you might want to wait for it. Anyway, I dont recommend you buy the 12 because it is very slow. If you decide to buy the mini9 then pick the one with the lowest specs (RAM, SSD) and just upgrade these yourself, it is cheaper and it is better that way.

Aren't SSD's really expensive still? I was looking into them before and I thought they were a few hundred dollars for a decent sized one. I'll look into that I guess.

As for RAM, I can handle doing that no problem but is it really worth it to upgrade instead of buying it direct from dell?

Thanks for letting me know the 10 is coming out. I had no idea so I think I'm going to wait for that netbook.

If I had a use for another computer I'd probably buy a mini 12 :)

But right now I have 2 desktops and 2 laptops ... I dont need half that many.

If you're happy then it's a good machine. I think a lot of people wanted Dell to build it differently and turned against it when it wasn't what they wanted.

It's still the only netbook in it's class until the Samsung NC20 turns up.
