    Dell Media Direct control panel doesn't fit in screen

    As you can see from the picture below, the Dell Media Direct control panel (with the play,fast forward etc buttons) does not fit in the screen. The fast forward function is off the screen to the right. It looks like the resolution is too low. Could it have something to do with the fact that this is the software for the M1710 and mine is an M1210? I called Dell when the CD arrived to tell them it was wrong and he said it was essentially the same as the M1210 and would work just as well.

    That's bizarre, the M1210 and M1710 both use XGA so I don't know why a different disc would be needed. But that's definitely not right, it looks like they have done some sort of customization based on screen size and you need the M1210 disc.
