Hey guys, I just wanna share my experience with Dell's service in my country Malaysia.

    I stay in Kuala Lumpur.

Last 2 weeks, I dropped my Inspiron 6400. The lcd cracked.

My notebook was hooked up to the notebook cable lock, and cable was tangled to the chair. I pulled the chair, and the notebook was dragged down to the floor.

here are some photos of the cracked LCD.

I had to hook my Inspiron up to an external display.

So, I called Dell Malaysia @ 4.30pm. Spoke to the technical service personnel and clarified with him what had happened. Lucky for me, I paid extra for the 3 years Complete Cover warranty by Dell.

At 5.30p.m. Dell Malaysia sent me a brand new LCD. Despite that it was raining, they still sent me my package.

Around 6.15pm a Dell certified technician came over to my house and fixed in the new LCD.

The LCD used by my Inspiron 6400 is by Samsung. It's a Truelife 1280x800 screen.

Besides that, the drop also spoilt my dvd-rw. The technician tried to help me get the dvd-rw sent by that night but the courier service was off by 6.00pm. They only sent it to me the next morning. I fitted the dvd-rw myself because it was simple to be done. The dell technician taught me how to do it earlier.

So, what do you think about Dell Malaysia's efficiency?

If the malaysian dell technicians and service came to canada and the US, then the canada and US dell technitians would probably get fired :D .

The service in US and canada is bad?

Despite paying extra for the Complete Cover and On Site service?

I thought it's under their service policy?

So, in general the service in US is just as good?

I will be going to US in August. I will probably be pursuing my undergraduate degree from Iowa State University for mechanical engineering.

I will be bringing over my Inspiron 6400. So, if anything happens hope Dell USA can help me too.

Wow. I'm amazed that your Dell technician is willing to let you take photos of him hard at work!
