Its cool enough for me ,pretty unique actually cause you won't find any laptop designed like the inspiron ;)
unlike the design of Ac*r,AS*S or T*sh*b* which had a pretty much the same design=SIMPLE

As long as they dont move all the ports to the side (on the 15" and 17" models) like the other companies have been doing with all of their laptops, Im happy with the looks.

I have to agree with liberty, only because I know that like 50% of the students at my college are going to have a similar lookin lappy and I'll be seeing grey with white bands everywhere.

I don't dislike the Dell's -- and in fact think they look better now then they used to. Most other laptops are the same boring/ugly design.

The two laptops I think look better are the new HP's and the new MacBooks and PowerBooks.

I've got the M1710, so I guess I can't really sympathize, but it doesn't really make a difference to me what it looks like. Even if everybody else has the same notebook as me, as long as I like it I'm cool with it.

the sony FE series look pretty but you'd pay almost 90% more for a sony FE with the same configuration as a dell 6400 :-(

I just dont undertsand why dell wont budge on this issue. they used to have the best looking lappy's at one point, but this new design, esp the black chasis on the sides, make the machines look real cheap. i do have a dell 4550 desktop in my room and i wished i could get a nice looking dell lappy to compliment it ...

Well I personally like the looks of the D820, and most students at my school who have a latitude will be getting the D620 so I'll stand out a bit, and I personally love the port lay out, headphones on the left side (so when you have it on the desk the cord dosent get in the way of the mouse and if you have headphones on and your in bed or something the headphone cord isnt in the fron like the acers) and its got USB on bothe the side (good for pludding USB keys and stuff in, and on the back (good for mice external HDs etc) and theres 4 total which is really good, plus it has FW. The black/silver latitudes also look very professional, so I have zero complaints...
