So.. Wanted some quick info on this behemoth laptop. If I get this thing its with the 4GB ram and the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7600 (2.33GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB) w/ a nice hardrive as well. Unfortunetly it onyl comes with the 256mb X1800 mobility. has anyone had experience with this thing?? I'm looking to get it cuz I will be going somewhere for a year and my wife needs our main copmuter for heavy schooling and other stuff. The games I'm looking to run on the M2010 are EVE - WOW - BF2142 - FEAR - COD4 and maybe a few others... id there any chance of this laptop with its highest config running these games at decent settings?? I'm not looking for MAX resolution. Looking for decent playability and still look good. Any info is greatly appreciated. I need teh truth. Dont knwo if i wanna build one for a year or just buy something. I'm cramped fro time which is why i probably need to buy one. Just didnt want a desktop since I may have to lug it a few times when i get there and during. Thnx in advance guys

You would honestly be better off going with the 15" or 17" model as the 8600 beats the crap out of the x1800.

GPU really doesn't justify size of this laptop.

For $2700 (base cost + T7600 + 4GB), you can get a much more powerful laptop from somewhere else.

I don't know about you, but I'd much rather have that system for $3000 than Dell's M2010. For another $350 you can get the X9000 Core 2 Extreme.

Yup certainly agree with this and similar posts. There are simply other better options with better prices.

But if you really insist on a 20" gaming laptop, I'd recommend the HP HDX instead. At least that thing, with its 8800M GTS, has better gaming potential than the M2010, with its pathetic last generation X1800 [it's not really that weak, but for a $2,500++ 20" laptop, it's just pathetic]. Still really expensive though and in my opinion just isn't great value-wise, although personally I would own one and use it as an AIO [All-In-One], rather than a full-fledged laptop.

Wow didnt even see the HP HDX.. looks pretty nice. Definitly better graphics and processor frmo what i see. I was jus tlooking at the M2010 for an all around machine. I do primarily game, just not hardcore. Needed something fro multimedia + games + if i take a few classes where im giong online. Just gotta make that choice between dedicated gaming and multi role. wanted a big screen with a decent laptop though i dunno.. User preference seems to rul these things.
