I hate the 'tap to click' feature on all trackpads, but for some reason, whenever I restart my computer, I have to go back into the settings and disable it, because it comes back on automatically.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Have you updated your trackpad drivers? That might fix it.

Do you have Logitech SetPoint installed for an exetrnal mouse? If so, uninstall and it should fix (it did mine).

The drivers are as updated as the ones on Dell's site.

I do have Logitech SetPoint installed, because I use a logitech mouse sometimes. The fact that a driver like that would screw with the mouse means that either Dell or Logitech did not do their job correctly, so I the consumer, have to suffer.

Using this Dell makes me want to throw it out a window even more every day...

I had the same thing. You have to disable it, then click Apply and then OK. This seemed to work for me.

i have the same problem, any of the touchpad settings i change gets lost when i restart (i'm most annoyed by the cursor speed setting).

setpoint is installed here also (logitech vx nano)

also when pressing mute or volume+/- buttons, after the restart, the OSD is always in the upper left part of the screen even tho i moved it to bottom right before :S
