    Hi,

I sold a Studio 17 with Windows7 to a client in December. The system had Windows 7 64 bit & due to an application she was using, I needed to install Win 7 32bit. So I reformatted & reinstalled windows 7 32.

Anyway, I didnt reinstall the Lojack software (if there was software on it) when I put Windows 7 pro 32bit on the system. As I tend not to install the dell 'crap' when doing an OS reinstall.

Unfortunately the laptop was stolen a few days ago from her office. Is there a way the Lojack protection works via the bios as I am pretty sure I didnt reinstall that. I would like to try to report this to Lojack or dell but I am 99% sure I didnt install the lojack software (if there was any).

    Thanks,
    Rich

I believe it has to be activated in the BIOS (Computrace?).No software is needed from the OS.

Did you turn it on in the BIOS?

    Default is OFF.
