i was just did a live chat not phone chat, to ask a few questions about the m1530 i asked him if he could do a price reduction on the laptop and he said: I am afraid the price listed on the website is the best we can offer to our customers. is it only over the phone that i get a price reduction?

My guess is that since they're pushing the 1530 as the casual gamer laptop instead of letting the xps and inspiron compete for sales that they'll be more stuborn to give discounts on xps systems, because thats what the inspiron is now, a discounted xps. The best way to get discounts off your system is to buy it and then say you want to return it and they'll throw 100$ your way or something. As for which one to oder through I've gotten price quotes from both live and phone chat, but have always had better luck with phone reps.

Tell them you want to use the 10%off discount code. They obviously have to let you use it(keeping in mind that it has not expired).

you dont have to use the 10% off coupon to get that spec for £820

I ordered mine last night with:

    2.2GHz T7500
    2GB RAM
    250GB HDD
    8600 GT

so if they say they cant go below £850 or whatever (which is what my rep told me before phoning me back 10mins later offering me it at £800) just tell them £800 is your budget and depending on how much they want the sale they should be ok.

btw get them to email you a wuote because the first quote the rep sent me at £800 she had downgraded the graphics to the 8400GS without telling me me?!

But i just phoned back and she changed it back to the 8600GT without a fuss

Just keep at them until they lower it, tell them to ask their manager and such, and even when you hung up without a deal theres still a chance they could phone you back offering the price you want

well ive configured a 2.2 ghz 8600mgt one for only £769 in vat then i can also get another 5% off that with quidco and then i can claim back the vat so it will only be jsut over 600. Wich seems cheaper than doing it over the phone.
