Hi guys,
I am a little lost as to the main differences between the Latitude D820 and the D830?
The computer will mainly be used for office work (excel), photoshop, and watching DVDs - no games at all.
I'm mainly concerned with the quality of the screen.
Slight differences in graphihcs card or hard-drive size are not of great concern.
I also noticed the D830 doesn't have a mic input - this could be an issue for Skype.

The D830's screens definitely are of better quality. The Santa Rosa chipset in combination with the T7100/T7300/7500/7700 CPU's deliver lower overall power consumption, and hence, greater battery life, than the chipset used in the D820.
The D830 has a microphone input, as well as a built-in microphone (albeit one with relatively poor quality). For Skype, you are advised to equip yourself with a USB or Bluetooth headset. -
ok great. it's weird as the D820 is more expensive than the D830
