    Hello

    I have purchaced a Dell D630, but there is an ugly thing on my battery ..

    Is it possible to remove it? I am afraid to remove it, maybe it can be broked..
    Here is a picture of it, if anyone is in doubt (it is the long thing..)

    I dont know what it is called...

    You have the 9-cell battery. That "ugly" thing is part of the battery itself, if you didn't want it you should have stuck with the standard 6-cell version.

    Oh i see... I thought it was a thing for the palms to rest..

    Hmm! Can i buy a 6 cell battery to this laptop?

    Absolutely, however the price of batteries at the moment is quite high.
