How realistic is the D620 to carry daily and everywhere? I am looking to get the 2 Ghz, 100 GB HD, with the 9 cell battery.

It should be very realistic. Its only a 15.4in, so it should be fairly portable and light. I'm not sure how much it weighs, but Dell builds the latitudes so they are durable and can handle day to day traveling.
They have a better quality and built than the latitudes, so they are marketed more towards business users than stay-at home users.

For travelling daily, my 1st choice:2.5lb 12.1" notebook
My 2nd choice: 4lb 12.1" notebook
My 3rd choice: 14" notebook
Never consider a 15.4" for daily travelling, you will regret it! -
For daily travelling I brought the 710m -
Actually, the D620 has a 14.1" screen.
The starting weight is about 4.4 lbs, but that's with a 4 cell battery... a 6 cell brings it up to around 5 lbs, so you might find the 9 cell to be a tad heavy (as compared to a 12").
I've used a 12", and personally, I think the larger screen is well worth the trade-off in weight. -
The guys are right. For the ultimate portability 12in and 14.1in would be better. I carry my 17in everyday, so carrying a 15.4in seems like it would be a good solution if you wanted to have a good screen + portability.
Sorry,

It's unfortunate the nVidia graphics option doesn't seem to be available right now with these. I'm looking at the D820 now since I don't travel much.

I saw a post from another forum that there was a 3 month hold on a 3D dedicated graphics card. Occassionally, I watch DVDs, esp. on flights, and I would like to appreciate the graphics.
My big thing is being a multitasker: Burning DVDs or CDs; Searching Medical Journals on the internet and reading PDF files while making Powerpoint presentations for lectures. Oh, yeah, and listen to music at the same time while riding my stationary bike. -
