I wondered what was the outcome of the bezel separation issue, mentioned in your review of this machine. I have a d610 with the same problem, and from what I read, it is not uncommon. I hate the appearance of this gap, especially on a brand new machine supposedly of high quality.

I was thinking about contacting Dell for service, but I have a terrific screen with no scratches, no dead or weak pixels, etc., and I was afraid they might change it for a reconditioned screen or something if I make a warranty claim to have the bezel repaired. (They do not promise to use new parts for warranty repairs.) If anyone has contacted Dell about the problem, I would be very interested to know the diagnosis, and Dell's comments on the problem, or possible suggested fixes?

Has anyone tried a do-it-yourself fix? I tried slipping a little piece of double-faced tape in there, but it didn't hold well enough. I think the heat got to the adhesive, turned it to mush, so I removed it. Now I'm wondering about applying a little silicone adhesive into the gap and holding it closed until it sticks. Do you see any risks with this approach?

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

I'm sorry, what bezel issue are you talking about?

Please refer to Tristan Osborne's review of the D610 on this website. It has been mentioned here and elsewhere that the screen bezel at the bottom (near the Dell logo) has a gap, apparently a common problem with the D610.
