My C800 recently stopped booting to the HD. I replaced it with an 80GB drive. Setup will not recognize the drive. It actually locks up BIOS setup when installed. Can't page or change anything....it is simply frozen. When I remove the drive, setup becomes normal. I re-installed the drive and actually made an XP installation that works. However, the only way that I can get the computer to boot is by leaving the XP disk in the CD drive. Failure to boot is the original problem which prompted me to replace the original drive.
