If there is a specific thread on the site for laptop inquiries, please redirect me and i'll post there!

I'm looking for (possibly) a Dell laptop with a budget of $400. I've looked online and found a few brands and models that fit my budget but they all seem initially the same to me so I'd love some advice!

I'd like to spend less than $300 or even $200 if I could find a quality laptop for that low price.

I'm going to use the laptop for simple, every day things; college work, email, music

not important:heavy graphics, webcam, optical drive, card reader

important: memory, hard drive, resolution, at least 2 USBs

    -Would anyone suggest a Chromebook?

How big of a laptop do you want? How much memory/HDD/resoltuion is sufficient? Would you be willing to go with used options?

I've been looking at a Toshiba Satellite? It has most of the things i'm looking for price, size, and memory wise. Anything under $400 or even $300 with features like the Satellite, or the Satellite, would be great! As for buying used, if you recommend it? ... I've never bought used before, but if you've had good experience with used and it lowers the price then i'm ok with it!
